M.S.W. Advanced Standing Option Degree Requirements
Students with an accredited B.S.W. degree who are admitted to the Advanced Standing Program will be awarded the Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree after fulfilling the following requirements:
- Successful completion of all required coursework (see Second-Level Fieldwork Application with contact information).
School Social Work Concentration
Early application is strongly recommended for students applying to the Advanced Standing M.S.W. who are interested in a school social work concentration since placement in school settings are competitive and generally decided by the schools in February and March. Also, candidates for the school concentration are required to take and successfully pass the Illinois Basic Skills Test required for school personnel prior to acceptance into the school's program. For more information about this exam, contact the Illinois Certificate and Testing Service at www.icts.nesinc.com or call (800)239-8107.
