BSW Internal Admission
The College of Arts and Sciences and Schools of Business Administration, Continuing and Professional Studies, Education, Nursing, and Social Work are all distinct colleges under the direction of separate deans. Students wishing to transfer from one of these colleges to another must complete an internal transfer application .
To transfer between colleges:
- Complete the internal transfer application.
- Students must be in good academic standing.
Each college has a minimum acceptable GPA requirement:
- School of Social Work: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum of a “B” grade in SOWK 200 and 201.
- School of Education: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- School of Nursing: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum of a “B” grade in all science courses taken.
- College of Arts and Sciences and School of Business: Cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- School of Continuing and Professional Studies:
- BA Management: Minumum culmulative of 2.0, 3 years of work experience preferred
- BS Clinical Laboratory Science: Minumum culmulative of 2.0. minimum GPA of 3.2 in prerequisite courses. - Adjustments made to a student’s enrolled status will not be reflected until the new semester.
To transfer to the School of Social Work:
We invite you to apply to the Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) program and join a community of students who have made the decision to enter this rewarding field. Loyola undergraduates with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and at least a “B” grade in SOWK 200 and 201 may apply to transfer into the School of Social Work by submitting a completed application form
Admission Requirements:
- A minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- A “B” grade for SOWK courses 200 and 201.
- School of Nursing: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum of a “B” grade in all science courses taken.
- Completed internal transfer form submitted to BSW Program Director.
- Completed application form submitted to BSW Program Director.
