(Admission to this program is currently suspended)
Applicants must possess a MSW or related graduate degree, in addition to a clinical license and several years of work experience. As this program is designed for the development of advanced practice skills, applicants must have engaged in significant clinical education and practice.
Loyola's post-graduate certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy provides advanced training for mental health professionals who currently treat children and adolescents. The program is designed to address the needs of clinicians who practice in a variety of settings, including mental health clinics, schools, family services, health care facilities, child welfare agencies and in private practice.
Graduates will enrich their understanding of child and adolescent psychotherapy and integrate recent theoretical and research findings with clinical technique. In addition to enhanced competence in treating children and adolescents, graduates will receive a post-graduate certificate attesting to their education. This program, thus, will assist graduates to advance their careers as psychotherapists, either in agency-based or private practice.
