Speaker Biographies

Colleen Cicchetti, Ph.D
"Sticks, Stones and Words Can Hurt You: Bullying Prevention in our Technological Times - An SEL Approach"

Colleen Cicchetti, Ph.D. is the Director of Advocacy and Community-Linked Mental Health Services Program as well as the Trauma Treatment Service in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Children's Memorial Hospital.  She is an Assistant Professor at the
Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University and serves on a number of boards and state interagency initiatives that address children's mental health and trauma treatment.
Christopher Cotten, PhD, LCSW
"Evidence-Based Practice and Practice-Based Evidence for Students with Oppositional Behavior"

Christopher Cotten, PhD, LCSW is a Senior Associate at Live Oak, a group practice on Chicago's North Side.  He is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Social Work at Indiana University Northwest and has been an adjunct instructor at the Jane Addams College of Social Work and University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration.  He has more than 20 years' experience working with troubled youth.
Kathryn Juzwin, Psy.D.
"Conceptualization and Intervention for Treating Eating Disorders"

Associate Professor at Argosy University.  Her other areas of interest lie in the areas of identification and treatment of high risk patients in partial hospital level of care, Critical Incident Stress Management, and treatment of the Complex Patient (trauma, self-injury, and eating disorders). Dr. Juzwin is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of trauma, forensic trauma, self-injury and eating disorders. She currently is the consultant Director of the Self-Injury Recovery Services Program at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. Other activities include forensic pre-employment research and evaluation of public service employees; and research, treatment and consultation regarding the management of high risk patients. She also serves as a Mental Health responder for the Northern Illinois Critical Stress Debriefing team and for the Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team (IMERT) and Illinois Disaster Mental Health Responder (DMAT IL-2).
Nacole Milbrook, MS, LCPC
"Working with Teens Around Issues of Sexuality and Pregnancy"

Nacole Milbrook, MS, LCPC is the Vice President of Clinical Services for UCAN.  She develops, manages and evaluates multiple departments within UCAN, including the Teen Parenting Service Network, Clinical and Counseling Services and U-LEAD Youth Development and Violence Prevention Services.  She is currently completing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Adler School of Professional Psychology.

Alene Frost
"School Social Work with Developmentally Disabled Students"

Alene Frost works with developmentally disabled students in the Wilmette public schools, and has master’s degrees in social work and educational administration.  She was the first educational professional invited to serve on the Illinois Office of Developmental Disabilities State Advisory Commission.  In addition to her direct work with students, parents and the educational system, Alene teaches professional development and provides consultation to school social workers.
Michael S. Kelly PhD, LCSW
"Strength-based Interventions for Kids Dealing with Depression"

Michael S. Kelly PhD, LCSW is Assistant Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work. Prior to coming to Loyola, he was a school social worker and family therapist for 14 years in the Chicago area.  He has published over 30 books, journal articles, and book chapters on school social work practice, evidence-based practice (EBP), and spirituality and religion in mental health practice, the most recent being School Social Work:  An Evidence-Informed Framework for Practice, published in 2010 by Oxford University Press.
Judith Ierulli, MSW, LCSW
"Compassion Fatigue: The Cost of Caring"

Judith Ierulli, MSW, LCSW, a senior therapist at Womencare Counseling Center in Evanston, specializes in working with adolescent and adult survivors of sexual, physical and emotional trauma. Her expertise includes work with Posttraumatic Stress reactions, dissociation, and self-harming behaviors. She also teaches and consults to professionals on effective ways to work with male and female survivors.
