Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin

Three Cups of Tea is the story of a promise and its extraordinary outcome. In 1993, after a failed attempt to climb K2, mountaineer Greg Mortenson drifts into an impoverished Pakistan village in the Karakoram Mountains. Moved by the inhabitants’ kindness, he promises to return and build a school. Over the course of a decade Mortenson builds not just one but fi fty-five schools—especially for girls—in the forbidding terrain hat gave birth to the Taliban. His story is at once a riveting adventure and a testament to the power of the humanitarian spirit.
