Staff Council Positions

Elected SC members serve a two-year term, and attend monthly full council meetings as scheduled, participate in respective committees, task forces, and/or special assignments. Full participation is important for an effective SC. Loyola’s SC is a volunteer organization but some work time will be spent attending SC meetings and working on projects on behalf of SC. Eligible staff include all employees except for faculty and student employees, officers of the institution (Band “E”), members of unions, and contract employees. Nominees should be employed six months or more at the University.
Shared Governance Open UPC Posts
In order to support the principle of “responsible, expertise-based participation”, SC will include on the UPC ballot the purpose of each UPC and some basic requirements for consideration of service. Unlike SC membership which is open to any eligible full-time employee, UPC membership will seek staff who can bring sufficient expertise to the corresponding UPC in order to productively participate in policy discussions.
