Staff Council Elections
SC is a body composed of employees of Loyola University Chicago (LUC) elected by staff to represent the concerns of and act as a voice for their constituents. Twenty representatives serve approximately 950+ staff employees. SC members are selected from a diverse pool of staff and represent Loyola’s lakeside campuses, various schools and areas, and exempt and non-exempt roles. Members of SC bring their own experience, talent, and desire to improve the environment for all staff by volunteering their time and effort.
SC seeks to enhance and further university-wide internal communication among and for staff; assist in developing and promoting staff development programs; promote a positive work environment; recognize staff for their commitment to excellence in service; and to cultivate a spirit of unity and collegiality among all employees at the University. Recent initiatives aimed at these goals include submission of an all-staff Short Term Disability proposal to shared governance via the University Coordinating Committee (UCC), launching SC’s formal recognition program, collaborating in One Book-One University project, hosting Pizza with the President, and many others.
