EDHEC Business School:

EDHEC business School was created in 1906 as a part of the Catholic University in Lille and has been autonomous since 1958.  In 1991 a second campus was inaugurated in Nice, on the French Riviera.  The two campuses of EDHEC have the opportunity to be located in two dynamic and complementary regions.  Indeed, Nice is famous for its international opening towards the South and the high tech activities of Sophia-Antipolis.  EDHEC provides its students with classrooms, reading and study rooms, multimedia centers, amphitheatres, cafeterias etc.

Today, EDHEC has more than 90 permanent faculty, 34 visiting faculty and 800 adjunct faculty.  Two third of the professors have a PhD or a doctorate and 20 percent of them are form a foreign country but nearly all teachers have an international experience and the ability to teach in English.  It is also very important for EDHEC to have a close relationship with companies in the region and to maintain strong links between the school, the students and partner companies.  EDHEC works in collaboration with several main companies like Boundelle, Procter & Gamble, Auchan, Total, KPMG, Ernst & Young among others.

In March 2004, EDHEC was awarded AACSB accreditation.  Today it is one of the “happy few” holders of the Triple Crown.  The distinction was gained following EQUIS accreditation in 1999 and AMBA accreditation in 2003.  Only 1 percent of Business Schools hold this Triple Crown in the world.  The Triple Crown puts EDHEC, in terms of visibility, with the best Business Schools around the world attracting students from the five continents.

In 2007, EDHEC Business School has:

  • 4,700 students
  • 102 permanent faculty
  • 800 guest lectures
  • 40 visiting professors
  • 783 international students
  • 76 nationalities
  • 41% non-French professors
  • 93 universities on 5 continents
  • 10 international courses

Nice

The city of Nice is the fifth largest city in France with 346,000 inhabitants and is part of the large urban centers with Antibes, Cannes, Grasse and Menton.  It is a 2-hour drive from Genoa, 3 hours from Milan, 3 hours 30 minutes from Torino, 4 hours from Geneva and 6 hours from Barcelona.

Nice is an attractive area to visit in any season.  Its enduring charm comes from the mildness of its climate, its wonderful environment and the historical, architectural, artistic and cultural sites found within it.  What intensifies the area’s attractiveness is that there is such a diversity of sites, from the shores of the Mediterranean to the Alps.

Nice is located on the French Riviera, known world-wide thanks to its outstanding natural environment and the quality of its tourism infrastructure.  It is also positioned as one of the most promising sites to host the boom of the innovative high-tech industries and the service and business sectors predominate, testifying to the French Rivera’s two major industries: tourism and technology.

One of the primary advantages of studying in Nice is the benefits from an environment that stimulates self-development, creativity and productivity.

The EDHEC campus is located in front of the airport about 6 km from downtown, near the business areas of Arenas. EDHEC with its small private campus in the heart of the city of Nice combines cosmopolitan flair with local flavor.
