INFORMATION SESSIONS, Fairs, and orientations
Throughout the academic year, the Office for International Programs (OIP) plans a number of study abroad related events. Attending study abroad information sessions, fairs and receptions is a great way to learn more about Loyola study abroad programs.
At study abroad events, you can pick up study abroad literature, talk to program representatives and chat with students who have participated in study abroad. Events are open to all Loyola University Chicago students.

Study Abroad 101
OIP offers Study Abroad 101 sessions twice a week throughout the semester. The sessions cover essential study abroad information and will walk you through all the basic steps you need to consider in selecting the program most appropriate for your needs and interests. Topics include: determining eligibility, when to go abroad, academic policies, application process, cost and financial aid. Students only need to attend one session. 101s are mandatory for all students who are planning to study abroad.
Fall 2009:

Tuesdays: 4:00-5:00 p.m., Sullivan Center, Room 123
Please Note- 101s will not be held on the following dates: September 7th, October 5th, October 6th. 101s start on Monday, August 24th and the last session will be offered on Tuesday, December 1st.
Study Abroad 102
Optional information sessions on various study abroad topics, called Study Abroad 102s, are available throughout the semester. It is recommended that students attend a 101 before attending a 102 session. The following topics will be offered this semester:

Information Sessions: John Felice Rome Center
These information sessions are offered to students interested in studying at the Rome Center for a year, semester or summer. Sessions last approximately 35 minutes and cover material related to the Rome Center.

INFORMATION SESSIONS: THE BEIJING CENTER
Find out more about Loyola's study abroad program in Beijing, China by attending an information session. At the sessions, a Beijing Center representative will show a video, distribute materials and be available to answer questions.

Study Abroad Fairs/Information Tables
The OIP will sponsor a Study Abroad Fair on the Lake Shore Campus during the fall. The fair is for students and others interested in learning more about Loyola study abroad programs. At the fair, you can talk with past participants, see amazing photos from around the world, talk with OIP staff members and program representatives, and pick up program literature. At the information table, you can pick up program literature and talk to a OIP representative.

pre-departure orientation
All students participating in a study abroad program are required to attend an orientation held on campus. Orientation typically takes place in April for students going abroad in the summer or fall and in November for students going abroad in the spring. At this event, students will gain valuable and practical information about your upcoming experience. OIP will send details through e-mail.
