LIVING IN CHICAGO

Summer Scholars were housed in Messina Hall on Loyola's Lake Shore Campus for Summer 2013. Once assigned, only our program students will have exclusive access to the hall. Participants will be separated by gender on each floor, and housed in double or triple rooms. All students wishing to live on campus and receive a meal plan must complete and submit a Housing Contract signed by both the student and a parent.

The program employs live-in staff members to supervise students throughout the program. Summer Residence Coordinators (SRCs); oversee the entire program as well as supervise and direct the activities of the Summer Residence Advisors (SRAs). Members of our staff are experienced college students employed by Loyola to perform a number of duties including developing social and educational programming during the afternoons, evenings and weekends.

EATING IN CHICAGO

A declining balance meal plan will be issued to each residential student to allow for three meals each day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in Simpson Dining Hall on the Lake Shore Campus, and lunch and dinner are also available in Terry Food Court on the Water Tower Campus. In addition, students may purchase food items at the Southside Market in the Simpson Multi-Purpose Building and the Connections Cafe in the Information Commons. RAMBLER BUCKS

Students may also add Rambler Bucks to their campus card which can be used like a debit card on campus and at surrounding businesses. Using Rambler Bucks eliminates paying tax on items purchased at designated restaurants and Loyola bookstores and serve as an easy way for students to pay to use the laundry facilities, vending machines, and printers. In order to add funds to a student's card, you may use one of the Valueport locations around campus or go online.  ** Rambler Bucks are non-refundable at any time.
