College Coaches

Why Should You Be A College Coach?

As a College Coach, you will work with an exceptional group of students, make contacts and friendships with dynamic colleagues, and gain valuable experience in a rigorous academic community.

College Coaches earn $8.50/hr based on a 29 hour work week for a duration of 6-10 weeks. This is a residential program, so all staff must live on campus throughout the dates of their employment.

Each applicant will be asked to rank in order which program and time commitment works best with their summer schedule. Please review the programs listed below when making your selections:

Candidate Eligibility
  • Be an undergraduate, degree-seeking student who has completed a minimum total of 24 credit hours (or obtained sophomore status) by end of spring semester.
  • Have a grade point average (cumulative) of at least 3.0 at the time of application. Candidates who do not attend Loyola must submit transcripts to summerscholars@luc.edu for review.
  • Exhibit commitment to the mission of the Pre-College Summer Scholars program.
  • Possess the following qualities: maturity, responsibility, flexibility, initiative, motivation, enthusiasm, integrity and a strong, positive work ethic.
  • Be able to work effectively with a diverse group of team members and to promote the benefits of diversity.

  • If selected for interview, you will be required to submit a resume for review.
  • If selected for the position, your employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
  • If selected as a College Coach, you may not also be employed as a Orientation Leader or a Resident Assistant.
