‌Why Work for Summer Scholars?

As a Summer Scholars staff member, you will work with an exceptional group of students, make contacts and friendships with dynamic colleagues, and gain valuable experience in a rigorous academic community.

This is a residential program, so all staff must live on campus throughout the dates of their employment. The Summer Resident Assistant (SRA) earn $9/hr based on a 37.5 work week for 4 to 7 weeks (depending on full or part time status) and Summer Resident Coordinators (SRC) earn $10.50/hr based on a 37.5 work week for 8+ weeks. Room and board are provided for each position.

Reqirements for Consideration

All 2013 summer candidates must send an email to summerscholars@luc.edu indicating which position you are seeking, attach a current resume as well as a detailed program proposal.

Program proposals must be either academic / social activity or community service project suitable for high school students which can be conducted over the summer. This can be a program you have done previously with another group of students or one you devise specifically for the purpose of our interview. We ask that you think creatively and know your audience as this program proposal will be weighed as heavily as any item listed on your resume.

  8. Length of Program
