David J. Treering is Loyola’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. He oversees the GIS facilites located in BVM Hall and University machines across the Lake Shore Campus.
David’s geographical and technological expertise allows faculty to conduct spatial analysis of environmental trends at a highly sophisticated level for research and decision-making processes. With a background in geography, he can help coordinate information from various disciplines as they relate to each research question.
Prior to overseeing GIS projects at Loyola, David worked on multiple initiatives to address the economic and social viability of the region. David earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Northern Arizona University in 2001, a Certificate of Geospatial Technologies from DePaul University in 2004, and a Masters of Sciene in Software Engineering from Loyola University Chicago in 2013.
