How can I help?
The Consumption Reduction & Recycling Committee welcome new volunteers to take part in activities that convey best practices with colleagues and friends. Please take a moment to review the list below of opportunities in which you can get involved in.
Consumption Reduction & Recycling Committee
The Committee meets regularly to evaluate the program and its progress, and share ideas. No experience necessary, just a willingness to take part to improve Loyola's waste prevention and recycling program.
Office Supply Reduction
Recycling Avenue—Collection of Small Electronics
Collection Infrastructure Improvements
Think Green and Give—Spring Move Out Collection of Reusable Clothing for Charity
Liaisons/Ambassadors take time to educate departmental colleagues of several Best_Practices_poster.pdf to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The Committee acts as a resource and provides guidance to the Liaisons/Ambassadors of updates, educational events, and other various ways to strengthen Loyola's waste prevention program.
The Committee has created a working educational campaign to target audiences in the Loyola community of best practices to reduce waste, reuse, and recycle. Educational activities include exhibiting at campus sponsored events, departmental competitions, student group competitions, dorm competitions and collection/donation drives. The opportunities to organize fun and educational activities are plentiful.
Have Great Ideas You Want to Share
Many of us have work practices that save resources. Share those practices with colleagues and the greater Loyola community. Tell your coworkers about practices that reduce waste, recycle, and consumes less energy. If applicable, the Committee will post to this website and share with others during various Univeristy outreach activities.
