The Biodiesel Program accepts donations of used cooking oil from the Chicagoland area. If you have recently deep-fried a turkey, or have a jar of bacon grease...we'll take it! All vegetable oil donated to Loyola will be turned into biodiesel to help run our campus shuttle buses.
We are gearing up to expand our oil collection and biodiesel production 1,200% in the coming years. We will need more used cooking oil and biodiesel users. Oil donations to Loyola University Chicago are tax deductable and all logistics are handled by the Loyola Biodiesel program. For more information please contact us.
To donate your oil to be turned into fuel please drop-off your oil in sealed containers at the Biodiesel Lab (M-F 8-3 at Front Desk). If you want to see the Biodiesel Lab please contact the Biodiesel Lab Manager, Zach Waickman (firstname.lastname@example.org 773-508-8852) to schedule a visit.
Through our operations partner, Chicago Biofuels, we can pick-up your cooking oil at your restaurant, cafeteria, or food processing facility at no cost. By partnering with Loyola University Chicago and Chicago Biofuels we can guarantee that your oil gets turned into clean burning biodiesel right here in Chicago! Check out our recent collaboration with Northwestern University.
