We offer courses in stage design, lighting design, costume design, stage management, theatre management, drafting, crafts for the stage, etc. All theatre majors receive a background in design; students who pursue more advanced design training may also receive the opportunity to design in our Second Stage series. Chicago is the home of many well-known theatres. A wide variety of internships in different disciplines and at different theatres are available. Loyola faculty and staff are often heavily involved in professional theatre, and therefore are great resources for internships. However, it is primarily the student's responsibility to find and secure internship opportunities.

One option that theatre majors can apply to is study abroad in London. The London Dramatic Academy has an established program in Theatre that offers a lively and intense introduction to the principles of British acting. Students earn 16 credits for successful completion of the one semester program. For more information, including application procedures and requirements, please see the Study Abroad site.
