Wielding Stories as Sword and Shield: Faith and Public Narrative in Social Chang

On Dec. 5, Valarie Kaur, an award-winning filmmaker, civil rights advocate, and interfaith organizer, will speak about the August 5, 2012, mass shootings of Sikh worshippers in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The lecture and discussion will run from 2:00 - 3:45 p.m. and will be held in Galvin Auditorium. After the lecture, beginning at 4:00 p.m. the documentary "Divided We Fall" will be shown. The lecture and documentary are sponsored by the Richard A. McCormick S.J. Chair of Catholic Moral Theology, the Department of Psychology, and the Muslim Student Association.
