Students learn more and remember it longer when they work in groups. The key is the active learning that takes place when you and your peers begin asking each other questions, thinking through solutions together, and hearing answers to questions you hadn’t thought of yet. You are encouraged to submit your request early, as it can take 1 week to add students to existing groups, or 1-3 weeks to form a new group. 

Please note: The last day to request tutoring for Fall 2009 was November 2nd.  Check back to sign up for tutoring for the spring semester after you register for your spring classes!

For Physics classes, we currently only offer Walk-in Tutoring.  Please see our Walk-in Tutoring page for a full schedule.

Who's In Your Group

• 3-6 students per group (2-3 for language groups)
• Group meets once a week (same day/time)
• All students in group from the same course
• Sessions led by a trained peer tutor

• After we receive a tutoring request, we send a confirmation email within 1-2 business days
• At least three tutoring requests for a class with matching availability are received and groups are formed
• You are paired with an existing group based on your availability OR a new group is formed based on common time of availability for at least 3 students and a tutor
• If no tutor is available, a hiring process is initiated (can take 2-3 weeks)
• You are notified when you have been matched with a group
