False e-mails appearing from "Novell WebAccess " have been sent to a large number of Loyola staff, faculty, and students. These e-mails are asking the user to send their password, via e-mail, in order to ensure that there is no service interruption to their access.
  
These e-mails are NOT originating from Loyola University Chicago. Neither ITS, nor any other Loyola department, will ever ask for your password. If you receive this e-mail, please delete it immediately and do not respond.  
  
ITS is taking steps to block communication with this sender (phisher). If you have responded to this e-mail with your username or password, please immediately change your password and contact the University Information Security Office (UISO) by sending an e-mail to datasecurity@luc.edu.
  
These attacks are part of a larger social engineering "attack" called phishing. Phishing attacks attempt to exploit your trust and convince you to give up your personal information.
