For Use with Internet Explorer

1. Upon successful processing of the VPN access request, a confirmation email message from “Loyola VPN Administrator 8-6086 ” will arrive containing an auto-generated ‘private key’ password and a client certificate (clientcert.p12) file attachment.

2. Save the attachment to your workstation’s desktop and double-click it to launch the “Certificate Import Wizard” as shown below:

 

3. Password below is the password given to you through an email from VPN admin along with certificate.


4. Click Next

 

5. Click Next

 

6. Click Finish

 

 

Setting up and connecting to VPN

1. Make sure that you close any existing Internet Explorer windows and then launch a new window. In the address bar provide this website addresshttps://vpn.luc.edu/

2. You will be prompted to grant permission for the certificate. Click OK

 

3. You will be redirected to login page. Enter your UVID and Password

 

4. After you are successfully logged in, click Remote Network Access (VPN).  A window pops-up that prompts to install a browser component.  Click on the Information bar to Install ActiveX Control.

5. Click Install to install the browser component.

 

6. You will see Network Access window. It installs and loads VPN Component.

7. You will see an information balloon on the below-right corner after VPN component is installed and loaded.

8. You are now connected to VPN

 

 

For Use with Mozilla Firefox

1. Upon successful processing of the VPN access request, a confirmation email message from “Loyola VPN Administrator 8-6086 ” will arrive containing an auto-generated ‘private key’ password and a client certificate (clientcert.p12) file attachment.

 

2. Save Client Certificate file on desktop.

3. Launch Mozilla Firefox. Navigate to Tools-> Options (for Windows)  || Edit->Preferences (for Linux)

4. Click on Advanced Tab. Click View Certificates.

5. Click Import from Your Certificates tab.

6. Locate your certificate file on desktop (if you saved it on desktop). Click Open.

7. Enter your certificate password (Find it in E-mail from VPN admin).

8. Click Ok.

9. Click Ok.

 

Setting your computer up for VPN

1. Enter https://vpn.luc.edu/ in the address bar. You will be redirected to login page.  You will be prompted to choose your certificate.

2. Click Ok

3. Enter your UVID and Password.

4. After you are successfully logged in. Click on Remote Network Access (VPN). A Network Access window pops-up prompting you to install VPN pluginClick Allow.

5. Click Install Now.

6. You must restart Mozilla Firefox explorer for the plugins to take effect. Click Restart Firefox.

7. Enter https://vpn.luc.edu/ in the address bar (Firefox restores its session even if you don't want to enter address). You will be prompted to choose your certificateClick OK

8. An Information balloon pops upon the below-right corner when you are successfully connected.
