One-time steps to prepare to connect to the VPN
After the one-time steps have been completed
Simply open your browser and go to https://vpn.luc.edu to connect.
Installing the certificate
1. Upon successful processing of the VPN access request, a confirmation email message from “Loyola VPN Administrator 8-6086 ” will arrive containing an auto-generated ‘private key’ password and a client certificate (clientcert.p12) file attachment.
2. Save the attachment to your workstation’s desktop and double-click it to launch the “Certificate Import Wizard” as shown below:
3. Password below is the password given to you through an email from VPN admin along with certificate.
4. Click Next
5. Click Next
6. Click Finish
Setup
1. Make sure that you close any existing Internet Explorer windows and then launch a new window. In the address bar provide this website address : https://vpn.luc.edu/
2. You will be prompted to grant permission for the certificate.Click OK
3. You will be redirected to login page. Enter your UVID and Password
4. After you are successfully logged in, click Remote Network Access (VPN). A window pops-up that prompts to install a browser component. Click on the Information bar to Install ActiveX Control.
5. Click Install to install the browser component.
6. You will see Network Access window. It installs and loads VPN Component.
7. You will see an information balloon on the below-right corner after VPN component is installed and loaded.
Connecting to the VPN
1. In the address bar provide this website address : https://vpn.luc.edu/
2. You will be prompted to grant permission for the certificate.Click OK
3. You will be redirected to login page. Enter your UVID and Password
4. After you are successfully logged in, click Remote Network Access (VPN).
5. You will see the Network Access window. It loads the VPN Component.
7. You will see an information balloon on the below-right corner after the VPN component is loaded and you are connected.
