Digital Screens

Description: There are more than 35 digital screens located at the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses. Screens are positioned in key locations throughout campus to help increase communication to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of Loyola. Parties interested in posting their information on the screens should submit their information to the University Calendar at LUC.edu/calendar. Solicitations from groups outside Loyola are not accepted.

Inside Loyola (Print)

Audience: Faculty, Staff, Retirees

Description: Inside Loyola is the monthly newsletter for faculty and staff members of Loyola University Chicago. The newsletter is published the first week of the fall semester and the first Tuesday of each month from September through May (January and February are a combined issue and drop in early February). Stories from the publication also appear online at LUC.edu/insideloyola. The newsletter includes feature stories from the various colleges and schools within Loyola and other sections such as the Loyolan profile, Show and Tell page, and a Save the Date section.

Inside Loyola (Online)

Audience: Faculty, Staff, Current Students, Public

Description: Inside Loyola online is the Loyola community’s primary source for University news. The site features daily updates of campus news and Loyola-related feature stories; it also highlights upcoming events and showcases campus photography and videos. The site replaced the former Inside Loyola Weekly (ILW) e-newsletter in October 2010 and serves as a centralized, one-stop source of all Loyola news and information to help you stay on top of what is happening around the University. The site also features a full page of links to all of the Loyola tools that you currently use, including directories, GroupWise, Kronos, Blackboard, etc. Submit story ideas at http://blogs.luc.edu/ilweekly/inside-loyola/submit/.

Special Broadcasts and Messages from the President

Description: Special broadcast e-mails delivered to students, faculty, and staff, via the UMC inbox, are reserved for important announcements from various departments within Loyola, emergency situations, messages from the Office of the President, and other messages approved by University Marketing and Communication. All other requested announcements are featured on the Inside Loyola news site.

Loyola Alert

Audience: Faculty, Staff, Current Students

Description: Loyola Alert provides personalized, time-sensitive alerts to students, faculty, staff, and other personnel at Loyola’s lakeside campuses in the event of threats to physical safety in emergency situations, including threatening weather incidents and on-campus violence. Loyola Alert messages are provided in addition to the University’s other emergency communications, which are sent to all LUC e-mails and phone numbers and posted to LUC.edu. Loyola Alert requires participants to register to receive additional special notification by cell phone, landline phone, e-mail, and text-messaging. Loyola Alert is built upon the Connect-ED System, developed specifically for schools, colleges, and universities by The NTI Group, Inc. More information is available at LUC.edu/alert.

Voicemail Broadcasts

Media Briefing

Audience: Faculty, Staff, Current Students

Description: The media briefing is a weekly media report that summarizes the top media highlights featuring Loyola University Chicago from the previous week. The briefing is sent out every Monday to select internal audiences. The briefing includes media mentions of not just the University itself, but also all faculty, staff, and students who are interviewed or cited.
