David Prasse, Ph.D.

David Prasse, Ph.D.In June 2005, David Prasse, Ph.D., became Dean of the School of Education (SOE) at Loyola University Chicago, after serving as Interim Dean since September 2004. As leader of the SOE, Dr. Prasse has undertaken a strong and innovative program with the intent to advance the research agenda of the School, led the development of new academic programs for the Water Tower Campus, conducted a number new faculty searches and made several strategic decisions about the School's operational priorities and budgets.

Prior to serving as Interim Dean, Dr. Prasse was Associate Dean for Academic Programs of the SOE at Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Prasse arrived at Loyola in 1999 as Chair of Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Psychology in the SOE. In the past 30 years, Dr. Prasse has held many academic and administrative positions at several higher-education institutions, including 17 years at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he served as Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology, as well as the Director of Doctoral Studies in the School of Education. Dr. Prasse has also served as a Personnel Psychologist in the United States Army. He received his Ph.D. in School Psychology and M.S. from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.
