Filming or Photography on Campus

For any one interested in filming or taking commercial photos on campus, please send an e-mail request to University Marketing and Communications (UMC) at umc@luc.edu. Please provide your name, contact information, company affiliation and a brief description of what you would like to film. UMC will review your request and contact you with further instructions. All requests should be placed at least one week prior to the planned activity.


Graphic/Design Guidelines

Loyola University Chicago's design and identity standards applies to all university print, broadcast and online communications. Brand standards establish and maintain a consistent public image of Loyola University Chicago that reinforces its promise, mission and vision.

Graphic and brand standards govern proper use of the following elements:

  • Loyola University Chicago name
  • Loyola Promise line (Preparing People to Lead Extraordinary Lives)
  • Official university logos and wordmark
  • Colors, typography, photography, etc.
UMC manages the university's brand Identity and provides professional design consultation and creation.

Media-Related Requests

Media relations serves as the liaison between the media and the university. The director of communications and staff supports the administration, faculty, staff, students and alumni of Loyola University Chicago.

Regular media relations hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and around the clock for emergency situations.

For after-hour inquiries or emergencies, please call the Media Relations Hotline at 773-508-7440. All media inquiries should be directed to media relations. All interviews with Loyola faculty, staff and students must be arranged through the media relations office.

UMC-produced Newsletters for Faculty and Staff

Inside Loyola (monthly)

Inside Loyola, the university's monthly internal newsletter, is published by the Division of University Marketing and Communications, 820 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60611. Inside Loyola is published the first week of the fall semester and then the first Friday of each month from October through May. It is posted on the UMC website by 5 p.m. the same day. An online-only version is produced over the summer.

Submit stories and event information to Anne Hughes at ahughes1@luc.edu or to Steve Christensen at schris6@luc.edu and include your name, phone number and e-mail address. No items for publication will be taken over the phone. Items received after the deadline date will be considered at the discretion of the editor. Inside Loyola reserves the right to edit, disregard or not cover all items submitted.

Inside Loyola Weekly

Inside Loyola Weekly is a summary of news and events for the upcoming week. Submit information on events or newsworthy information to Anne Hughes and Steve Christensen in the UMC division via e-mail or by fax 312-915-6185. All entries will be considered and posted upon the approval of the Communications Director, Maeve Kiley. Deadline for submission is on Thursdays by 10 a.m.; all submissions are subject to review. Inside Loyola Weekly is posted on the UMC website by 2 p.m. every Friday.

Photo Requests

Photos taken at university-sponsored events are stored online and manged by UMC. Please contact Mark Beane at mbeane1@luc.edu to request copies of archived photos. Photo releases are required for all photo shoots, click here to download photo release form.


University Calendar Event Postings

Loyola University Chicago's online calendar is intended for publication of Loyola University events only. These include events sponsored by any Loyola University Chicago department, school or organization. All events should be submitted no less than five working days prior to the scheduled event. Use the online calendar form to submit event information. When providing contact information, please provide a Loyola phone number or e-mail address. For questions or comments, please contact the Calendar Administrator at calendar@luc.edu.


Web Design Standards (Publishing Pages @ LUC)

Official Loyola Websites (schools, divisions, departments, offices and organizations) must use approved Loyola Web templates for page design and follow the recommendations outlined in the Web Style Guide, found at the URL listed below. These templates offer a consistent design that strengthens Loyola's image, promotes greater usability through established navigation schemes, enhances content presentation and conforms to accessibility standards.
