The University Senate is seeking nominations for two (2) staff representative Senate positions that are up for election in this cycle.

• The open Lake Shore Campus staff seat is a two-year term that begins in the 2014–15 academic year. Joyce Knight will continue to serve as the other Lake Shore Campus staff representative for 2014–15.
• The at-large staff position on the Senate rotates between three campuses (LSC, WTC, and HSC) every two years. We are currently seeking nominations for the at-large staff position that has been allocated to the Water Tower Campus staff for the next two years (2014–16). This individual will serve with Ron Martin, who will serve as Water Tower Campus Senate representative for the next year.

Nominations can be e-mailed to tclass1@luc.edu and must be submitted by Tuesday, April 8. In your e-mail, please specify if the nomination is for the Lake Shore Campus or the at-large (Water Tower Campus) staff position. You are free to nominate yourself if desired. If you nominate someone else, please seek their approval prior to the nomination. Elections will then be conducted based on the pool of nominations received. Please note that only full-time staff members are eligible to serve on the Senate.  

The Senate plans to meet six times per academic year for two hours per meeting (generally on Fridays from 3–5 p.m., so if you have a persistent conflict at that time, it is not feasible to serve), in addition to a one-day summer retreat. The time commitment is relatively low for a high-impact service position. We hope that newly elected members will be able to attend our last meeting of the spring on Friday, April 25.
