Hi! My name is Megan Prokott and I am currently a freshman at Loyola. I am re-running for our student government as a Sophomore Senator for the 2015 school year and I think I am the best candidate for this position. I have already been through the process of elections for USGA twice, one of which involved a nerve wrecking series of speeches in front of the entire undergraduate Senate. Seeing as I am going for round three, I clearly love USGA!
Not only do I love USGA, but I also love Loyola (and it’s definitely in a cheesy, annoying way). Every day since the first day I set foot on campus I have been excited to be a Rambler and being involved on campus is a definite factor in this. Some of you might know me from other involvement around campus, as I find myself signing up for everything ever. Beyond my current position as a freshman Senator in USGA, I am also the Marketing manager for Loyola’s Ski and Snowboard Club and occasionally find myself on the turf playing for LUC’s girl’s lacrosse team. I am a Freshman Ambassador and I am starting a new club on campus that focuses on an interest in magazine editorial. I have met some seriously awesome people through all of these experiences and it continues to help me formulate well rounded opinions and see opposite perspectives on many of the issues brought before the student government Senate.
I look forward to three hour meetings on Tuesday’s because I love having a voice in decisions that affect me and all the other students of Loyola. I hope you will consider re-electing me for the 2015 school year. If elected, I will continue to represent my fellow students to the best of my ability and help Loyola be even better than it already is.
