Chief Justice

Monica Finke

Monica joined USGA during her freshman year as an associate justice of the Judicial Board, continuing into her sophomore year.  Now a junior, Monica was elected Chief Justice of the Judicial Board for the 2013-2014 term.  She is very excited to continue with another term, and appreciates the chance to be involved at Loyola.  An international studies and philosophy double major with a concentration on social justice, Monica is also a member of the Loyola Honors Program, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and was recently accepted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society.  Outside of USGA, she enjoys being a member of the Loyola Ethics and Bioethics Bowling team.  She also volunteers with her co-ed service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega.  Monica loves spending time outside of class exploring Chicago and sampling its many delicious restaurants with her friends.  While serving as Chief Justice, she wants to continue developing the Judicial Board as a meaningful branch of the USGA.  After graduating, Monica hopes to attend law school.

The Chief Justice runs the Judicial Board of the USGA, which reviews the constitutionality of passed legislation of the Senate and Executive Orders of the President. He/She hears cases of misconduct, and oversees weekly Judicial Board meetings. The Chief Justice serves as the primary Judicial adviser to the Executive Board, and provides a report of Judicial proceedings. He/She maintains updated copies of the USGA governing documents - the Charter, the Constitution, and the Code - and ensures that all USGA activity abides by those three documents.
