Chief Justice

Louis Kern

Louis Kern, originally from the Greater Cincinnati area, is currently a senior working toward his B.B.A. in both Economics and Finance while having already acquired a minor degree in Spanish Language and being a member of Loyola’s interdisciplinary honors program.  In addition to serving on the USGA Judicial Board for three terms, Justice Kern has participated in the acclaimed Loyola Mock Trial program and has served as an Executive Board member in Loyola’s co-ed service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega.  In his free time, Justice Kern enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, writing, and enjoying the company of friends.  Upon graduation, he aspires to work in the financial industry before going to law school to study securities law.

 

The Chief Justice runs the Judicial Board of the USGA, which reviews the constitutionality of passed legislation of the Senate and Executive Orders of the President. He/She hears cases of misconduct, and oversees weekly Judicial Board meetings. The Chief Justice serves as the primary Judicial adviser to the Executive Board, and provides a report of Judicial proceedings. He/She maintains updated copies of the USGA governing documents - the Charter, the Constitution, and the Code - and ensures that all USGA activity abides by those three documents.
