Chief Sustainability Officer

Alexandra Vecchio 

Alexandra Vecchio is a senior year at Loyola University Chicago and serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer within USGA. Alexandra is earning a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences in environmental studies and sociology, with a minor in business management. Although new to USGA, Alexandra is looking forward to a successful and productive year. Her overarching goal is to connect sustainability to all aspects of Loyola University. She plans to work to develop better recycling options for students living off campus, create a sustainable partnership with Loyola Athletics Department and specifically help coordinate Loyola’s first ever USGA sponsored “Zero Waste Game”. Finally, Alexandra will be working to develop a green initiative fund on campus for student sponsored sustainability projects. In addition, she works closely with Office of Sustainability and Student Environmental Alliance to coordinate sustainability efforts across all levels of the University. In her free time, Alexandra enjoys swimming, bike riding, water skiing, traveling, and volunteering.

 

The Chief Sustainability Officer is responsible for promoting initiatives focused on environmental issues on campus. He/She works closely with USGA committees and other on-campus organizations to promote sustainability. The CSO will also be responsible for coordinating activities and programs supporting campus sustainability initiatives, and representing the USGA as a liaison between Student Environmental Alliance, Center for Urban Environmental Research & Policy, and Loyola’s Director of Sustainability.
