Loyola University Chicago, a private university founded in 1870 as St. Ignatius College, is Chicago's only Jesuit Catholic University and one of the largest of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. Loyola University Chicago comprises four campuses: Lake Shore (LSC), Water Tower (WTC), Loyola University Health Systems (LUHS) and the John Felice Rome Center in Italy. Loyola also hosts The Beijing Center in China, and is home to nine schools and colleges. Lake Shore Campus

The John Felice Rome Center

- Provides more than 400 students a year with the cultural advantages of studying abroad, making it one of the largest centers in Western Europe for international education in the arts and sciences
- Students live and study on five-acre campus on Via Massimi in Monte Mario, four miles from downtown Rome, Italy

The Beijing Center
- Further increasing students' global learning opportunities, Loyola has been named U.S. host university to The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies, (TBC).
- Founded in 1998, The Beijing Center has quickly established itself as a top program for students eager to study abroad in China.
- The undergraduate program integrates language study, a choice of 40 seminars on Chinese topics, adventure travel, and interaction with Chinese students.
- The Beijing Center has added a variety of summer options, plus programs for faculty members and select graduate students. As U.S. host university for TBC, Loyola University Chicago provides academic oversight and administrative support for this successful study abroad program.
- Specifically, Loyola is responsible for the maintenance of high academic standards of the program, and manages recruiting, enrollment, and financial services to support its operations and students. Future plans include scholar programs in Beijing, Rome and Chicago.
