Personal Pages
Loyola personal Web pages differ from "official departmental" pages and "faculty" pages because they do not have to directly relate to the university nor do they have to conform to any basic design standards. They are located at: http://homepages.luc.edu and have a quota of 20MB.
Personal web pages are the responsibility of the owner. Web Support cannot maintain or edit your pages in any way. There are however, many web pages about the technical aspects of web publishing that you might find helpful.
If you're interested in an automated way of creating your homepage, please visit the Information Services Linkon page.
In order to create a personal Web page, you will need the following:
- An Orion ID. Refer to LUC Web 101: How Do I Get an Orion Account? for more information.
- Sufficient knowledge of HTML coding or a Web page creation software package.
- Basic knowledge of UNIX commands to change file permissions so that your page is viewable by the public.
- An understanding of the concept of transferring files between your local machine and Orion.
