MASS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

5 PM · EAST QUAD (If it rains, this Mass will be canceled and the standard Mass schedule will be followed)

Regardless of your faith tradition, this Mass provides an opportunity for all members of the Loyola community to pray for God’s blessing on us. Every Loyolan is invited to attend this Mass, which will invoke the blessings of the Holy Spirit for the academic year. Related events: Mass of the Holy Spirit Picnic

Upperclass Student Move-In, Day 2
8 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Welcome back to Loyola University Chicago and to your residence hall! Move-in dates and times are assigned to students by the Department of Residence Life. For more information, e-mail res-life@luc.eduor call 773.508.3300.
Second Trip to Target (2 of 2)
10 a.m.–noon 
Meet at the bus depot just outside of the parking structure

Take a trip to Target for anything you need or may have forgotten at home. The bus will drop you off, wait while you shop, and then bring you back to campus. The final bus departs from Target at noon. Please purchase only what you can carry!
Choral Rehearsal for Mass of the Holy Spirit
If rain, this event is canceled
1–3 p.m. - Rehearsal Mundelein Auditorium
4 p.m. - Warm-up East Quad

All students are invited to sing for the Mass of the Holy Spirit at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, on the East Quad. There are no auditions; just come ready. All music will be supplied.

Oh, right, classes begin tomorrow! Hang out with Welcome Week leaders who can explain what a syllabus is (and how to read it), how to open your mailbox and how to find your classes.

Attend a picnic immediately following Mass. Loyola dining halls will be closed during this event.
No Impact Man Film Screening
7 p.m.
Crown Center Auditorium

You heard Colin Beavan speak at Convocation; you read his book; now watch the film: No Impact Man. Beaven and his family decided to eliminate their impact on the environment for a year. Find out how you can reduce your personal impact on the environment as well. Stick around for a discussion of environmental impact with the Center for Urban Environmental Research and Policy and environmental student groups.

Crown Center Auditorium

Enjoy a pre-home release of the film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Share big boxes of movie theater candy with your new friends.
