Tari Mellinger is a licensed psychologist who joined the Wellness Center in August 2008. Tari received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Iowa and has extensive experience providing psychotherapy services to college students. Tari's clinical experience includes work at The University of Iowa's Counseling Services, clinical internship at The University of Illinois-Chicago's Counseling Service, post-doctoral work at Pace University's Counseling Center in New York, and 3 years as a psychologist at the University of Dayton's Counseling Center. Tari employs a strength-based and interpersonal therapeutic approach and special clinical interests include men's issues, relationship issues, GLBT issues, helping college students engage in self-growth and self-awareness, and helping students increase self-esteem, assertive behaviors and boundary setting in relationships. In her free time, Tari enjoys being active, the outdoors, live comedy and music, reading, and taking in the multitude of cultural events that Chicago has to offer.
