Double Major English & WSGS

Research Interests: queer theory, transnational queer discourse, alternative sexualities/kink communities

Interests/Hobbies: dj-ing for wluw, crafting, fermenting, petting other people's dogs

Career Goals: Having a sunny, full library with a built in ladder and comfy chair

Hannah Conway

Freshman

Pre-Medicine, Double Major in Music and Women & Gender Studies; Neuroscience (Minor)

Research Interests: Masculinities, global power structures, international institutions, gendered experiences of violence in war

Interests/Hobbies: I love singing and playing the guitar as well as being outside and playing sports. I enjoy being with people and spend a lot of time doing service and volunteer work.

Career Goals: I’m currently working towards being either a neurologist or an oncologist and possibly something in the music field.

Edgar Cruz

Junior

Sociology (Major), Political Science (Minor), & Women's Studies and Gender Studies (Minor)

Research Interests: Intersection between masculinity and race, class, violence

Interests/Hobbies: Intern in the Office of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (Men’s Initiatives), worker for Information Services in Centennial Forum Student Union

Career Goals: State Legislature with a focus on Education, Health, Immigration, Natural Resources, & Environment; Non-Profit work with The Polaris Project (Response to Human Trafficking); open my own non-profit for Prevention of Violence against women (focus on dating violence in teens as well as human trafficking)

Lauline Gough

Criminal Justice (Major), Theater (Minor)

Research Interests: Human trafficking particularly child sexual exploitation and domestic violence

Interests/Hobbies: Theatre, dancing, and painting

Career Goals:  I aspire to become an Attorney and then a Judge. I also hope to help start a non-for-profit organization or create a home that helps vulnerable populations particularly those affected by sexual exploitation
