WLA (Re)Animated

WLA (Re)Animated is a special collaborative section between Digest magazine and the Women and Leadership Archives.  A photo or document is chosen from the archives that sheds light into our collective past.  We hope that in "reanimating" histories, readers will not forget the past in how it shapes our present and future.  Mundelein College was the last women's college in Illinois before affiliation with Loyola University Chicago, the Women's and Leadership Archives is home to Mundelein Colleges 60+ years.  WLA (Re)Animated will often showcase this unique collection, specifically illustrating gender and social stratification at play.

WLA (Re)Animated's logo highlights two aspects of Mundelein College:
1) Skyscraper building, which is now Mundelein Center, was the college's architecture achievement
2) The font used is the same as Mundelein's student-run newspaper, "The Skyscraper Newspaper," which ran for 40 years.

Digest magazine highly suggests readers visit the website and physical location of the Women and Leadership Archives.  WLA is one of a few archives in the country that specializes in collecting the often forgotten lives and efforts of women.  WLA is unique in offering volunteer, internship, grant, and research opportunities to both the Loyola community and beyond.  Click here to visit WLA's website, which is also in Piper Hall.
