Loyola University Chicago

Office of the Provost

Thank You and Next Steps

May 27, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

Following President Rooney’s announcement earlier today about the change in the Office of the Provost, we first and foremost want to echo her expression of gratitude to Norberto and to our faculty and staff for their efforts on behalf of our students and University. We also want to thank President Rooney for her leadership, especially as we focus our collective efforts on emerging stronger from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic as One Loyola.

Together, we as leaders in Academic Affairs will continue to work closely with President Rooney, members of cabinet, trustees, faculty, and staff to prepare Loyola for a full return to campus this fall and for a bright future that builds on our 150-year-old tradition.

These are exciting times for Loyola as we prepare to implement the new strategic plan that you and so many throughout the University have developed and endorsed. Together, we will continue our vital efforts for racial justice, environmental sustainability, health equity, access to education, and so many other initiatives that are central to who we are and our shared mission to create a better world for all.

In the days ahead, please be assured of our ongoing commitment to collaboration and open lines of communication. We look forward to being together again in person and to working with you to chart the course for Loyola’s next 150 years.
