2014-15 How to Participate in Accreditation

The Office of the Provost coordinates re-accreditation efforts for Loyola University Chicago. The Office has been collaborating with various departments, schools and members of the Loyola community to gather and create evidence which will be provided to the Higher Learning Commission’s (HLC) site visit team to illustrate our continued improvement and commitment to quality. Key personnel involved in the re-accreditation process have met with various stakeholder groups across the University to create awareness and answer questions regarding the evaluation process, and are available to meet with interested groups in advance of the site visit on February 23-24, 2015.

Open Forum Meetings

Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in open meetings with the evaluation team during the site visit.

HLC Student Opinion Survey

Loyola students may also choose to engage in the re-accreditation process through the Higher Learning Commission’s student opinion survey. Student feedback provided via the survey will be directly submitted to the HLC. An e-mail invitation to students to complete the survey was distributed to all current Loyola students on December 1, 2014 with an opportunity to complete the survey through December 10, 2014.

Public Opportunity to Comment

The public and all members of our community are invited to share its thoughts about Loyola before the accreditation site visit, by submitting comments to the Higher Learning Commission. The public may submit written comments on the HLC website at: http://www.ncahlc.org/HLC-Institutions/third-party-comment.html or by mail to:

Comments must be received by January 25, 2015 one month prior to the site visit. The Commission cannot guarantee that comments received after the due date will be considered.

Note: The Higher Learning Commission cannot settle disputes between institutions and individuals, whether faculty, students, or others. Complaints will not be considered as comments.
