DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST)
SCPS students may apply for credit for DSST exams. In general these will require passing scores for DSST to meet general elective credits or toward SCPS course requirements. Students may take DSST examinations after they have matriculated, but only if they:
- have not previously completed, failed, or received credit from Loyola University Chicago (transfer or otherwise) in a comparable or more advanced course in the specific examination area;
- will not receive comparable credit in the DSST examination area in the same term the examination is taken or in a subsequent term.
All official CLEP examination scores must be provided to the Office of Registration and Records at least one semester prior to anticipated graduation.
Some DSST exams may be applied to SCPS requirements. Others apply to general electives.
Note: Students can now have their transcript from a DSST exam sent to Loyola free of charge. The student will need to enter Loyola's location 4 digit site code at the time of registration. Students register at the DSST test center at the time of their appointment. There will be a location on the registration page to enter the score report recipient code. The site code for Loyola is 9522
