The Rufallo Noel Levitz: Adult Students Priorities Survey Results

In the Spring 2016 semester, Loyola SCPS students completed the Rufallo Noel Levitz Adult Students Priorities survey. The very strong results from this survey confirm that Loyola SCPS is on the right track. On the overall satisfaction front, SCPS students were significantly more satisfied than the national sample (6.15 v. 5.62) and were much more likely to say they would enroll here again (96% said they would).

In this survey, students are asked “what’s important” and “how satisfied”. Our strengths were mostly in the questions about academics:

  • There is a commitment to academic excellence at this institution.
  • My academic advisor is accessible and knowledgeable.
  • Nearly all faculty are knowledgeable in their field.
  • This institution has a good reputation within the community.
  • Faculty are fair and unbiased in their treatment of individual students.
  • Faculty are usually available for adult students outside the classroom by phone, by e-mail or in-person.
  • The staff at this institution are caring and helpful.
  • Adult students are made to feel welcome at this institution.
  • Classroom locations are safe and secure for all students.

We had much higher satisfaction than the national benchmark in a number of areas:

  • The content of the courses within my major is valuable.
  • The quality of instruction I receive in my program is excellent.
  • Major requirements are clear and reasonable.
  • Tuition paid is a worthwhile investment.
  • Classes are scheduled at times that are convenient for me.
  • There are sufficient options within my program of study.
  • This institution has a good reputation within the community.
  • Registration processes are reasonable and convenient for adults.
  • When students enroll at this institution, they develop a plan to complete their degree.
  • My academic advisor is concerned about my success as an individual.
  • I am able to complete most of my enrollment tasks in one location.
  • I seldom get the "run-around" when seeking information at this institution.
  • Faculty provide timely feedback about my progress.
  • The staff at this institution are caring and helpful.
  • Adult students are made to feel welcome at this institution.
  • Part-time faculty are competent as classroom instructors.
  • Classroom locations are safe and secure for all students.

We learned that we have some work to do in building the quality of some of our online courses and an assessment conducted by Jeanne Widen later in the Spring 2016 revealed that we have gone a long way toward fixing those issues with our tight partnership between our Instructional Designer Kelly Barry and our faculty.

Congratulation to our faculty and staff for these stellar results!
