Transfer Friendly

Loyola SCPS accepts transfer credit earned from community colleges and regionally accredited universities. Students who have completed 30 or more transfer credits may follow either the Illinois General Education curriculum or the Loyola CORE requirements to satisfy general education requirements. Students with less than 30 will follow the CORE. We’ll advise you how to choose the most effective path for you. Just submit your transcripts.

Transfer credit guides are available for some community colleges in Illinois, which allow students who have completed either an A.A. or General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) in the community college to transfer to Loyola SCPS with the core curriculum requirements met and then complete their Bachelor’s in an average of two years.

Applicants who have attended institutions outside the United States can request a Catalog Match Evaluation from Educational Perspectives to complete their application. For students who decide to enroll, the Catalog Match Evaluation will be required and used to receive credit for any courses taken abroad.

All students must satisfy the residency requirement to receive a bachelor’s degree from Loyola. Students must take their final, uninterrupted 45 hours of instruction or a minimum of 64 hours in residence at Loyola University Chicago.
