Bachelor of Arts in Applied Criminal Justice Leadership
The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Criminal Justice Leadership is an exclusive program that develops leadership skills among current criminal justice professionals. You will develop capacities in problem solving, critical and creative thinking, career development, technical skills, oral, written, and electronic communication, ethical reasoning, and civic and global engagement. You will use these skills for lifelong learning, leadership, teamwork, and collaboration.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the demand for professionals with a specialty in Criminal Justice will increase by double-digit percentages over the next several years.
Courses in the BA in Applied Criminal Justice Leadership offer students:
- An in-depth understanding of best leadership practices for their continuing improvement and effectiveness
- The study of ethical obligations and the meaning of justice
- Examination of the history and development of the movement toward improvement of police-community relations and service
- Development of effective written and oral communication
- Overview of social science empirical research methods with an emphasis on their relevance to data analysis used by leadership and supervisory personnel
School of Continuing & Professional Studies (SCPS) students will complete 3 courses focused on personal and professional development, designed specifically for adult learners.
Courses are offered in an accelerated 8-week format with flexible evening, weekend, and online classes. You have the option of completing the program online or with a blend of online and onsite.
Loyola can accept 64 credits from a two-year institution, including half of the major requirements.
Transfer students must complete a minimum of 45 credits at Loyola.
You can earn credit for experience-based learning for up to 4 courses in the major and up to 36 total credits.
Pursuing non-traditional sources of credit offers opportunities to earn credit for knowledge gained through life experiences that qualify as college-level learning, providing substantial savings of time and tuition.
You also have the option of completing one of our professional certificates while working toward your degree. For students needing to complete a general elective credit, the certificate can satisfy this requirement and earn an additional credential.
