Health Systems Certificate

The Health Systems Management Certificate is a collaboration between the School of Continuing & Professional Studies (SCPS) and the School of Nursing to address the growing sector of health-care administration. Through this program, students gain an understanding of the leadership and organizational skills needed to manage the various and diverse needs of a healthcare organization, including the role of management in measuring performance and achieving quality; the need for planning and resource allocation to assure a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors; cost accounting, cost behavior, and budgeting; the corporate, legal, and regulatory environment; and the social justice implications of cost, quality and access.

Start Term/Time to Complete The course rotation for this certificate will begin when there is a cohort of 10 students. Once started, students will take 2 classes each 8-week session and finish the certificate within 3 sessions, roughly 6-7 months.
Schedule Format Courses offered online and with alternate Saturday morning face-to-face meetings in 8 week sessions.
Transfer Credit Accepted Toward Certificate 2 courses / 6 credit hours
Course Locations Courses are offered in a blended format with face‐to‐face meetings held on Saturday mornings on the Water Tower Campus – 820 N. Michigan Ave, Chicago
