Emma joined the inventory organization at True Value Company in 2018 and immersed herself in the Inclusion & Diversity Council. Within the council, the Supplier Diversity Committee provides countless opportunities to grow as an advocate for inclusive procurement practices. Now co-lead of the program, Emma focuses on initiatives to drive impact and profitability. She creates meaningful relationships with seasoned supplier diversity professionals from leading retailers to share best practices, create opportunity and effectively advocate for equitable procurement practices.
Prior to her current role, Emma held several positions in the apparel inventory organization of a national retail corporation. It was there she began to learn about the very industry she intends to revolutionize. With a mind for sustainability and social justice, Emma began acquiring the experience needed to reimagine apparel retail. Frustrated by the lack of informed and nuanced coverage of sustainable fashion, she founded the ethical fashion blog Una Voce Equa, which means “a fair voice” in Italian. The blog features profiles of sustainable fashion organizations, brands and events, projects and perspective pieces to arm readers with the knowledge they need to lead a sustainable fashion existence.
Emma loves to share her professional experiences with Loyola business students and has enjoyed several opportunities to do so. She is an alumna of the John Felice Rome Center and graduated Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago with a B.B.A in Information Systems. She is one of a handful of students to complete both the Quinlan Business Honors Program and the Interdisciplinary Honors.
