David Cotugno serves as Senior Gift Officer at Communities In Schools of Chicago. In this capacity, Dave focuses on securing major gifts and working with the Board of Directors, Leadership Council, and other key stakeholders to ensure the organization’s sustainable growth. Mr. Cotugno started working at CIS of Chicago in September 2019. His portfolio includes a wide array of families, individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Prior to CIS of Chicago, Dave spent 8 years working for Cradles to Crayons, most recently as Associate Director of Development in Chicago. In this role, he led fundraising, events, and marketing. Additionally, Dave managed three of the organization’s leadership Councils. During his tenure, Dave helped bring the organization from a start-up to a robust organization raising $3.5M and impacting more than 80,000 low-income and homeless Chicagoland children annually.

Dave sits on the Board of the Serve IL Foundation and NBCUniversal Community Action Board, and was previously on the Board of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Marketing and Management from Ithaca College.
