Sabrina Smith - Baumhart Scholar
Sabrina Smith is the Founder & CEO of Progeny1, a Leadership Development and Training company, where she is a leader, coach, keynote speaker, and corporate facilitator and trainer with 22+ years of experience. She brings real-world knowledge, skills, and aptitude to evaluate the needs of the clients she serves and helps them grow through focused leadership interventions.
Before establishing Progeny1, Sabrina served as a manager at U.S. Cellular Corporation in Bolingbrook, IL that was later acquired by Xerox Corporation. In this role she successfully led various teams in continuous improvement efforts that resulted in higher customer engagement, improved job satisfaction, and deeper leadership bench strength. Throughout her career, Sabrina has facilitated various performance enhancement courses in the areas of sales, customer service, performance coaching, communication, diversity and inclusion, and other critical business improvement skills.
As a manager at Xerox, Sabrina’s ability to quickly build relationships resulted in the successful staffing of vacated roles in tech support and training. She also created skills building training procedures that were used to onboard new trainers before moving to an independent contractor role at the CARA Group, and later with Aquent where she was selected as a Lead Consultant for the DIRECTV/AT&T account. In this position, Sabrina effectively executed on a multi-million-dollar project that resulted in vendor performance improvements, leadership development and performance compliance and sustainability.
Sabrina has partnered as a volunteer for Upkey Chicago, which helps students prepare for the professional world. She has also supported the DuPage County Township’s back to school initiative in Bolingbrook, IL, conducted volunteer interview skills trainings for adults returning to the workforce, and partnered with Churches as a volunteer youth leader and facilitator of training for youths and Church leadership.
Sabrina attended Lewis University where she received a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Business, concentrating in Organizational Leadership, and a Masters of Organizational Leadership Coaching Certificate. Sabrina also writes for the International Association of Administrative Professionals and looks forward to furthering her education and ability to impact the lives of others as a Baumhart Scholar.
