Mary Lee Montague

Founder and Chief Consultant, Montague & Associates LLC

Mary Lee Montague is the Founder and Chief Consultant for Montague & Associates LLC (M&A), a retained executive search firm focused exclusively on nonprofit CEO/Executive Director/President roles and positions reporting directly to them. 

She is fond of acknowledging that her passion is her purpose and was honored to form M&A LLC in February 2019 to deliver high touch and high impact for a wide variety of nonprofit organizations nationwide.  The need for this impact became clear the longer she remained at large global firms. 

Mary Lee has 35 years+ of nonprofit experience including over 20+ years at two global search firms as a nonprofit practice leader, and 15 years as a fundraiser for WTTW/Chicago PBS.  Her civic experience includes multiple nonprofit boards such as the Girl Scouts (local and national boards), Young Women’s Leadership Charter School (formerly in Bronzeville), and the International Women’s Forum (IWF) where she was recently Board Chair as well as a member of the IWF Global Foundation board of directors.  She is a member of the Union League Club, Economic Club and Executives Club.

Recently she moved from the Lakeview neighborhood to the New Buffalo, Michigan beach community of Michiana with her husband, Bruce, puppy Lincoln, and his BFF, Sam the cat.

Mary Lee is an avid traveler and while traveling enjoys collecting art from street artists. During her down time, she can be found on her bike or at the beach reading true WWII stories.
