Student Speaker Profile: Taha Din

Taha Din is a History major with minors in Classical Studies and Arabic Language. His family is originally from Karachi, Pakistan but they currently live in Naperville, a nearby suburb about an hour away from campus. Taha has really enjoyed the last four years here and is grateful for everything Loyola has given him.
This coming fall, Taha is hoping to attend graduate school at the University of Cambridge in England to complete master’s coursework in Egyptian archaeology or social anthropology. Because of his obsession with Harry Potter, he has always dreamt of studying somewhere in Britain, so is hoping that it works out. In the future, Taha would like to start his own business with the goal of providing access to educational tools, extracurricular opportunities, and life coaching for children in war zones. Taha thinks this is a cool idea that will give these kids a taste of the childhood they deserve to have which was unfairly taken from them. He also wants to have a travel vlog and be an independent global hotel and restaurant critic.
If anyone ever gets the chance and/or desire to read for leisure, Taha recommends Shooting Kabul by NH Senzai. This book had Taha reconsidering his existence at the age of 13, and he still learns things from it as a 21 year old.
Some of Taha’s hobbies include traveling, camping, snow sports, and learning new languages. His ultimate travel goal is to watch a sunset on every continent and he is nearly there, with only Antarctica left. A fun fact about Taha is that he can do magic tricks, card tricks, and mind reading, and has even done a couple of shows!
