In 2022-23 we will hope to meet in person at 5:30pm for dinner for the first and last meetings of the academic year, Wednesday 14 September 2022 and Wednesday 19 April 2023.
The best-laid plans, alas, remain vulnerable to Weather Events: the 14 September meeting will perforce take place online at 6:00pm. We have, however, now received confirmation of the space for the 19 April meeting - please hold the time and hope for favorable conditions!
The October, November, December, January, February, and March meetings will take place virtually using Zoom, the scheduled Wednesdays at 6:00pm.

Please review the general instructions about DocFinity on the page About the Platform at this website, as well as specific instructions for the type of curricular proposal you are making, under Instructions for Curricular Changes or Instructions for Temporary Tag/Cross-Listing Requests.

Meeting Schedule and Submission DeadlinesThe College of Arts & Science's Academic Council normally meets four times in each of the Fall and Spring semesters during the academic year. Submission deadlines for curricular applications are normally set 3 weeks ahead of the meeting date, to allow time for the Curriculum Committee to review the proposals and work with submitters to clarify and regularize them. Our goal is for changes the Council approves to pass smoothly through the University's other approval-processes and implementation. Changes requiring programming or re-programming of majors and minors normally need to have been approved by the Council no later than the December meeting of any one academic year, to be on-track for implementation as soon as the following Fall semester. New courses and course-changes normally need to have been approved by the Council no later than the February meeting of any one academic year, to be on-track for implementation as soon as the following Fall semester.
CAS-AC ArchiveApplication-packages for proposed curricular changes and other meeting materials of the College of Arts & Science's Academic Council, from September 2017 forward, are archived in the CAS-AC DocFinity Platform. Individual items may be looked up in the Searching workspace: specify items of information in the Metadata Query's input-boxes and zero in accordingly. Submitters who update their indexing information completely greatly facilitate these searches! But if you find only isolated items through the search-parameter with which you start, you can usually locate the rest of a package by re-searching with the Unique ID.
Google SiteThe Academic Council Google site contains an archive of Council materials between 2008-09 and 2014-15.
