Project Title: Pathways of Relational Health and Well-Being Among Youth in Foster Care

Project Abstract: Pathways of Relational Health and Well-Being Among Youth in Foster Care will shed new light on the role of caring, bonding, and emotionally secure relationships along with the role of these relationships in facilitating or constraining process of healing and recover toward relational health and well being. This will be done by placing the assumption that once permanence is achieved, through ramification or adoption, the child's well-being has been achieved as an empirical question to further examine the relational well-being as a distinct outcome and process across a range of permanent outcomes. My involvement in the program, beginning May 2013, will include further literature reviews, shadowing Dr. Pryce in interviews, assisting in transcriptions and analysis of interviews, and eventually leading interviews on my own. This will allow me to gain more experience in the research process. It will also help me get better acquainted with the foster youth population and the child welfare services.
