Project Title: Transitions Initiative
Project Abstract: Project Prepare, a category of Transitions Initiative, is an orphanage-based curriculum that works to better prepare children for transitioning out of institutionalized care in Ethiopia. This curriculum aims to prepare youth aging out of care by providing them education, support, and resources. Children who are not provided resources and training for transitioning out of care are at a higher risk of human trafficking, homelessness, labor exploitation, as well as countless other risk factors (Stover, 2007). This project aims to understand how to best provide the resources and training needed for youth transitioning out of institutionalized care in an effort to alleviate many of these potential risk factors.
