In Spring 2023, the Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium will be returning in person during the Celebration of Student Achievements, Scholarship, and Creative Works, (April 13 - 23, 2023).

All those wishing to submit research or community engagement presentations for the Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium must complete this registration form. Registration is due by Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 11:59 pm CT.

To get a better sense for what to expect, read below for general information about the symposium, oral and poster presentation sessions, and glimpses of past symposia.

Submit Presentations

During the traditional Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium, undergraduate students are welcomed to present research or community engagement projects to the public through the use of poster presentations or other visual displays. The Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium is returning to an in-person event for 2023! The symposium will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Undergraduate students are welcome to present research or community engagement projects to the public through the use of poster presentations, oral presentations, and learning portfolios. 

Students may submit their research and community engagement experiences here now through March 19th, 2023 at 11:59 pm CT. If you are planning to submit a poster for your presentation, you can find more detailed information, guidelines, and resources for creating and submitting it on our Resources page.

Public Viewing

Presentations submitted to the Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium Archive will be accessible to the public here, starting January 2, 2023 and continue until April 30, 2023.

Evaluations

We invite faculty, staff, and community partners to evaluate student presentations to provide constructive and positive feedback. This year, we are hosting Loyola's Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium in person on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Awards

Each year at the Undergraduate Research & Engagement Symposium, we recognize outstanding undergraduate scholarship in research and community engagement and the faculty and graduate mentors and community partners who support and and facilitate undergraduate learning during the academic year.
